Into the Drift
Into the Drift is a fantasy RPG/base-building game currently under active development. The game features procedurally generated world and regional maps for replayability, with a focus on adding carefully handcrafted thematic and story elements, lore, and locations. While development is still in the early stages and I’m leaving room for goals and features to change as work progresses, some of the planned features of the game include the following:
  • Real-time, intense single player combat
  • Procedurally generated world & regional maps
  • In-depth world and lore inspired by various sources, not limited to but including: Old English/Celtic/Viking language and mythology, Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere, anime influences including Jujutsu Kaisen, Lord of the Rings, Chrono Trigger, Darklands, the Final Fantasy series (particularly Final Fantasy VI), Vampire Survivors, ToME (back when it used to be Troubles of Middle-Earth), Caves of Qud, Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, and others
  • Dynamic weather and time systems
  • “Threadweaving” magic system
  • Settlement building / management
  • Party mechanics and the ability to assemble large parties / participate in large-scale battles
  • Carefully handcrafted locations including towns, cities, random overworld locations, unique locations, dungeons, etc.
As of the writing of this blurb, some of these features have been implemented while others have not. For more details, please refer to the Dev-Map. At this time Into the Drift is solely an individual and personal project I'm undertaking at my own pace, so there is no guarantee that any or all features listed above or in the Dev-Map will ultimately be included, or even that the game will ever actually be released. I only intend to release ItD once I feel it's complete enough to be considered a playable product, and I have no intentions of rushing the process of development.

Into the Drift is developed in the Godot game engine.
